In ancient China, these fabrics were woven from silk and gold and silver threads, which were used to weave figures into the fabric. At the time, it was exclusively intended for the wealthy. Fortunately, it is much easier to obtain today, and there are more affordable alternatives made with polyester and metallic threads.

The more accessible versions of brocade are mostly made of polyester. A special weaving technique is then used with special threads, creating a beautiful pattern.
